Oh how we love springtime Santa Barbara engagement sessions, and last week when we met up with Dave and Christine for their Santa Barbara engagement session and it was nothing short of incredible! We had tried to do their engagement session months prior but had to move it due to the rain from el nino. We are so glad we decided to reschedule for a sunny day, because their engagement session had some of the prettiest California coastal golden light we have ever seen! Plus when we rescheduled we went out for drinks instead and got to know them a little more, which was such a treat! They are so cute and were so fun to shoot!!

Dave and Christine are college sweethearts. They met in 2008 when they were both at UCSB and Dave started working at the same after school care for kids where Christine was working. Dave was actually the only guy who worked there, and Christine made a point to start talking to him because she could tell this guy was different, and her competitive nature may or may not have played a part in that too 😉 He didn’t stay at that job for very long, but he continued talking with Christine and quickly started to pursue her. They went on a few dates, and then when they officially started dating and their first real date was at a lovely sushi restaurant (yay for good sushi bringing people together!) It wasn’t long before they fell in love as they spent their days road tripping, adventuring and experiencing Santa Barbara together! After 7 years Dave proposed on the top of Elings Park which is where they are getting married next month!!

We did their engagement session at Douglas Preserve and Mesa lane Beach because that is one of their favorite places to run together or walk their labrador retriever named Isla. Both of those locations are gorgeous this time of year so it was a great place for their engagement session!

We can hardly wait for their wedding and we are so excited to share a few of our favorites from their engagement shoot today!
