Coastal Engagement: Matt & Jasmyne

Filed in: Engagements

They met eight years ago, when she started working at the same restaurant as him. He noticed her right away, and they started talking and soon became very close friends. When they started dating a few years later it was so clear they were meant for each other, and it’s been the best adventure ever since. They both love sports, especially the Dodgers, and though they love cheering and celebrating their teams through all seasons, the other reason they love sports so much is because they can enjoy them together. They work hard and play hard,  and they are truly the best of friends. After being around them for a few minutes, you can tell…they’ve found their person. It just clicks.

When we met with them at The Lark, we quickly fell in love with their story, and we are already dreaming of their wedding day! But for now, we love the story of how he proposed so much, we just had to share it with you! When picking a date to ask her to be his wife, Matt truly wanted it to be a surprise, and it was! He picked his birthday to get the attention off of her, and divert her questioning, which is such brilliant idea! (We’ve actually had a few grooms do this! The Christmas proposal we photographed a few years ago did the same thing…grooms if you’re thinking of a date to propose, birthday might be a good one). Back to the story…so they had a full on birthday party for him and they were surrounded by all the people they love! The guests sang him happy birthday, and then as soon as they finished…Matt got down on one knee and asked Jasmyne…”will you make my greatest wish come true” (cue the happy tears!) This guy is incredible! She obviously said yes, and we are still in awe of the way this guy loves to love his lady! We love these guys, and we are excited to share a few from our engagement session at a private beach on a beautiful foggy day.
