One Way To Impress All the Guests

One Way To Impress All the Guests

One Way To Impress All the Guests

We love going above and beyond for our clients. We are always brainstorming new ways to do so. The wedding day can fly by, and we love to give our clients a great experience that helps seal in the memories.  At the same time we are always asking “How can we let everybody else here know who we are and where to find us?” without standing there passing out business cards like a vending machine. Well here is one little trick we love!

A same day slideshow.

Quite honestly, this is nothing new in the wedding industry, but it works wonders!

We love doing this for a few reasons:

  1. It exceeds the couple’s and guest’s expectations.
  2. It helps seal in the couple’s memories and boost their excitement for the rest of the photos.
  3. It is one of the most efficient ways to show the guests your work and where to find you.

So now, here is our step by step guide to nailing a same day slideshow:

First off lets go over our exact settings in the “Slideshow” menu in Lightroom. Having this set before hand saves valuable time and work during the small window of time you have to accomplish this.

Keep note-this is just how we prefer our slideshow settings. We encourage you to play with them to see what works best for you and your work.

Now that you have your settings dialed in here are the steps:

1. Bring your laptop and card reader to the wedding.

2. During the downtime of dinner upload a few photos (between 10-20) and give them a quick edit in Lightroom. Don’t worry about extensive retouching here.

3. Click over to the “Slideshow” tab in Lightroom.

4. Press “Play” and give Lightroom a minute or two to begin the slideshow.

5. Set up your laptop in a presentable clean space and set out a stack of business cards.

Here is the kicker to it all. We NEVER tell the bride and groom that we plan on doing the slide show. Doing this as a surprise you up to far exceed their expectations.

Have you ever done a same day slideshow? What do you love doing to exceed your clients expectations?
