This wedding started with a 3:30am wakeup call for us, and it was completely worth it to see the sun rise on a private rooftop as this couple vowed their lives to one another! Alex and Jake had an intimate sunrise ceremony overlooking Santa Barbara, and a reception at The Narrative Loft. We loved watching the sun light up their guests faces as they exchanged vows and rings on the bride’s family’s rooftop. Then after they were officially husband and wife, and we did family and friend portraits, they wanted a moment to connect. So for their first act as a married couple they wanted to do something that was special to them as a couple. The groom a commercial pilot so their schedules can be all over the place at times, and they always love to take the time to just be together for just a few minutes and connect over coffee whenever they’re able. So after portraits we walked a block up the street to get coffee at Breakfast, and it was incredible to watch them connect and laugh as they realized they are now officially married! Our favorite couples are the ones who value connection with each other and celebration with their loved ones, and they blended the two of those thing perfectly! After coffee, they went back to rest and prepare for the evening reception at The Narrative Loft! We have been looking forward to photographing an event at The Narrative Loft because it has a New York City feel but it’s in Santa Barbara, it’s two of our favorite places combined! From the second we walked in we were in love! The live band played some of our favorite songs and at one point had us thinking John Legend himself was singing because they sounded so great! We loved photographing the incredible drinks, and fantastic food by Pure Joy Catering, and beautiful florals by Ella & Louie. It was a perfect evening filled with laughter, dancing, celebration, and even a few happy tears were shed on the dance floor too! We are thrilled to share this wedding with you!
