Coronado Engagement: Aaron & Amanda

Filed in: Engagements

Oh what an incredible year this has been! It started with beautiful winter weddings back in January that were supposed to get rained out because of “El Nino” but they were bright and sunny. Then in a funny twist of events the year ended with three cold and/or rainy engagement sessions the last few weeks of the year! It seems like El Nino had it’s own time schedule and decided to be fashionably late, and now it’s pouring cats and dogs all over Southern California! But at least the weather arrived in style! We are currently sitting at James’ parents house cozied up by the fire, baking Christmas cookies, listening to Christmas music as the rain turns to hail outside. The tiny balls of hail are the closest we will get to a white Christmas, so we are loving every moment of this winter weather!

We came down to San Diego a day early for Aaron and Amanda’s engagement session in Coronado. Aaron is a pilot for the navy and when we found out he was going to wear his flight suit for the shoot we were absolutely thrilled! These two met when they least expected it. They boarded a plane from Texas to San Diego and were seated next to each other. Neither one of them planned on talking to their neighbor the whole flight, but as soon as they started talking it was easy and comfortable. Mid-flight Aaron got up to use the bathroom, and the older German last next to Amanda told her if she didn’t go for this guy she was going to set him up with her 18 year old granddaughter!  When they landed Aaron asked if he could help her with her bag, not realizing she had three very large bags because she was in the process of moving. But being the gentleman he is, he was happy to help and then they exchanged numbers and email addresses…and the rest is history!

When we arrived in Coronado for their engagement session the weather had been flirting with clouds, and rain all day. We decided to go with the flow and do their session rain or shine, and we are so glad we did because it was one of the prettiest engagement sessions we’ve ever done! The light was gorgeous, and these two are so cute together! They were champions for braving the rain, and we are so excited to share a few of our favorites with you today!
