Brunch Wedding at Stow House: Colton & Hannah

Filed in: Weddings

From the moment we knew Hannah and Colton together, we knew they were perfect for each other. We had the pleasure of seeing them fall in love, and photographing them when they were guests at weddings we’ve photographed over the years. Every time we saw them we got more and more excited for them to get married!

This wedding was special for so many reasons! One of the main reasons is Jess grew up with the groom’s family! Another reason is it was a brunch wedding, and we both love brunch! And there were FIVE couples who’s weddings we’ve photographed over the years who were guests at this wedding! Don’t worry, we all took a photo together! It was such a treat to get to see so many of our amazing couples in one place, celebrating Colton and Hannah!

The day started early, because it was a brunch wedding with a morning ceremony. The girls got ready at a Airbnb nearby the venue, StowHouse, and the morning light poured through the windows as the girls finished dup hair and makeup! Then they all headed to the venue for the first look! We love the first looks and this one was so sweet! After Colton saw Hannah, she gently grabbed his face and they just stared at each other.. They are so cute together and they calm each other down so well. It is so clear they have found their person in each other!

As the guests started to arrive and they were greeted with a coffee station and a mug station. As their wedding favor for guests, they had a table of coffee mugs that guests could choose their mug “favor” and then fill it with their coffee. How cute is that idea?! We loved it! The coffee station had coffee options from their favorite coffee roasters! Much of the bonding in their relationship happened over coffee and breakfast treats, so they used that as inspiration for their wedding day! We always love when the wedding day is a reflection of who they are as a couple, and this day was just that!

The guests then took their coffee mugs over to the ceremony, and took a seat under the giant oak tree. They had a beautiful ceremony, and we even shed a few tears as they beautifully vowed their lives to each other. Right after the ceremony they were hugging their family as they congratulated them! Colton looked at his ring while his mom was hugging him and he said “doesn’t my ring suit me?” and she said, “oh yes, the ring suits you, and SHE suits you” and they hugged again and started crying. And let’s be honest, we started crying a little bit too.

The cocktail hour consisted of delicious breakfast treats, and drinks and more coffee, while guests enjoyed lawn games. Every little details was incredible! The bride and her mom and friends helped design and create such a beautiful setting for the wedding day!

Their families gave speeches, but her brother was not supposed to give a speech….but they made him the emcee so he snuck in a speech. He told everyone that he knew he wasn’t supposed to but they gave him a mic so how could be resit. He gave examples of how Hannah is completely a different person than she was when they were younger. He told stories of sibling rivalry, where Hannah would outsmart him and get to play with all his toys by making thing up. Obviously this was one the the ways she has changed. She doesn’t lie like that and she is very kind and shares life with others. But then he told a story of how she is exactly the same. They had a cat growing up, and the cat was lazy and very overweight and smelled terribly, but Hannah loved it so well. She loved that cat unconditionally despite how it smelled or looked or treated other people. Her brother said, Hannah is still like this today. She is fiercely loyal and when she makes a commitment she is true to her word in every way. When she decided she loves someone she’s going to love them like you wouldn’t believe, and Colton you are a lucky man to have a love like hers. He also said, Colton,  you complete this family perfectly and we are so grateful to have you! What a hilarious and wonderful way to welcome him into the family!

One of our favorite things bout the wedding day was how happy their guests were! We heard guests exclaiming “this is such a happy day” and it really was! Everyone was happy and excited and looking forward to this day! This couple is so sweet together, and it is so clear they are loved and celebrated by everyone around them!

Right before their exit Colton’s mom stood at the to of the stairs with them and prayed a blessing over them. She announced that this is one of the happiest days of her life! Then they ran through as guests threw lavender in the air and made their way out in style on a vespa! We loved everything about this couple and their wedding day, and we are so excited to share it with you!
