San Francisco Fort Mason Wedding: Pat & Erin

Filed in: Weddings

Pat and Erin had a San Francisco wedding and their wedding day was one of the most beautiful days the city of SF has had in months! It was 70 and sunny with absolutely no fog at all (a very rare occasion for SF)! We learned that the locals have named the fog Carl and so we joked that Carl did NOT crash the wedding! 😉

The girls started off the day by getting ready at a suite on Chestnut. Erin is incredible, GORGEOUS, and her dress looked like it was made for her!! After they were finished, they all took an 18 passenger party bus to their noon ceremony! The guys spent the morning at the bride and groom’s apartment in The Marina. They sipped whiskey on the rooftop, which has a gorgeous view of the city!  Pat has surrounded himself with great guys, and they had a great morning tougher. We love that Pat is strong and intelligent, and he looked so handsome in a suit!

Throughout the day, you could tell that Pat and Erin wanted their guests to have a good feel for San Francisco and they picked their locations to showcase that. You could see the Golden Gate Bridge from both the ceremony and the reception, and everything was right on the Bay.

Their Ceremony was at Presidio Chapel of Our Lady, which is a stunning chapel with lovely, detailed ceilings. In the ceremony the priest said, “In true love you don’t just say I’m sorry, you say ‘Will you forgive me?’ because you place the power and trust in the other other person. You’re saying, I’ve given you the power and trust to forgive me and take me back. This is a beautiful example of how to live life. We do that with God and with our significant other. “ We loved the advice he shared and it truly resonates with how to move forward in both life and relationships.

After their ceremony we hopped on a cable car with the bridal party and went all around the city to find the most incredible places for photos. The bride and groom actually planned their wedding day around photos, which is a photographer’s dream!! We went to the Presidio, the Golden Gate Bridge, the Palace of the Fine Arts, and Fort Mason. It was as dreamy as it sounds! Everywhere that we went there were dozens of people wishing them congratulations and a fair share of tourists asking to take photos of them!

The guests enjoyed cocktail hour overlooking the harbor and the Golden Gate Bridge. As they enjoyed the open bar, they could also smell the Paella cooking around the corner. Guests were seated for dinner in the Fort Mason Center at long tables decorated with eucalyptus floral runners. As guests listened to speeches, they watched through big windows as the sun set behind the bridge and the sunset reflected off the water. Such a gorgeous setting!

Some of our favorite moments from the night came from the speeches. Pat’s brother is 10 years older and he said, he was hoping for a bike and then he got a little brother. What a change up! Though they weren’t too close growing up because of their age gap, they now are much closer and actually work together at the fire department. Pat started as a volunteer at Menlo Fire Department and he went on his first fire with his brother. It was a huge fire, and they had to get in through a side door that was locked. His brother watched as Pat showed his intelligence, strength, and quick thinking to help them get into the building. After the story his brother said “In the moment I just felt deep down inside that I couldn’t have been more proud of my brother.” How sweet is that?!

He went on to say that when Pat brought Erin around, everyone in Pat’s family could tell this was pretty serious. Partly because he hardly ever brought girls around and partly because as soon as they met Erin they loved her! They watched as Pat changed in many ways, like when Christmas came around they actually received presents on time and they were all wrapped, and wrapped beautifully! They could already see the great and beautiful ways Erin was influencing him. All of Pat’s siblings are married, and he was the last one to get married. His brother finished his speech by saying, “Erin you are the perfect final puzzle piece to this family! And we couldn’t be more happy to have you!” Such a perfect way to welcome her into the family!

Towards the end of the evening, Pat and Erin gave a thank you toast to their family and guests. Pat thanked his siblings for helping him turn into the man he is today and they individually thanked each of their parents for everything they’ve done for them. Then Pat turned to Erin and said, “You’re simple and I am simple, and there is something about that that just works. We can just sit there and be together. We are so content together. That’s how I know this is going to work.”

It was a such a beautiful, fun, day that fit Pat and Erin’s personalities perfectly! We loved getting to be a part of it and can’t wait to share some of the photos from the day with you!
