El Paseo Wedding: Tyr & Allie

Filed in: Uncategorized

This wedding is extra special for us because we have worked with Tyr on a number of weddings! Tyr manages the events and weddings at El Paseo and does a fabulous job! We were thrilled for him when he got engaged to Allie, and we were SO excited when they asked us to photograph their wedding! They are such a cute couple, and we love the way they make each other laugh!

The day started with everyone getting ready at the Hilton Santa Barbara. As Jess walked up to the room where the girls were getting ready, she could hear laughter down the hall. We always know it’s going to be an amazing day when it starts like this! James walked in to find the guys completely ready for photos, and he may or may to have been “iced” as he walked through the door! Allie had all of her details (shoes, invitations, all three rings, jewelry, and a Mrs Box) gathered and ready for photos, which always makes the day so much easier! Allie had her grandma help her into her dress, and they had such a sweet and special moment together! And when we saw Allie in her dress we gasped! She is stunning!! When she was all dressed and ready we went into the other room for Allie’s first look with her bridesmaids! We love when our brides do this, and it was so fun to capture her girl’s reactions! They gasped, laughed, and cried, and then we whisked Allie away for the first look.

We love when our couples do a first look because it helps calm nerves and it is a perfect opportunity to actually see your fiancé and say hello! And it’s so great to have a moment together to take a deep breath and remember what the day is really about. Tyr and Allie had the best perspective, and all they wanted was to marry their best friend and celebrate with their friends and family. During their first look they both had the biggest smiles on their faces. We couldn’t help but smile right alongside them as they told each other how excited they were to get married!! They have something so special, and we really like how fun and playful their love is!

We were blessed with overcast weather which was perfect for bridal party photos under the olive trees at the Hilton! We had a blast with this bridal party! It’s so clear that Tyr and Allie have surrounded themselves with incredible people who love and support and celebrate them well! Our favorite members of the bridal party were their two Frenchies. Leila, was a bridesmaid, dressed in a white rose collar, and Theo was a groomsman, dressed up with a bow tie. They walked down the aisle with the bridal party, and they even stood up there the whole time. Such a fun way to incorporate their pups!!

They had a beautiful ceremony under a grove of oak trees at the Santa Barbara Natural History Museum. We love the ceremony space at the Natural History Museum because it is already magical and barely needs any extra decor. After a short and sweet ceremony, we all headed to El Paseo for the reception. We love El Paseo for receptions because it is such an amazing space and the food and margaritas are so yummy! The restaurant is in a historical building, and has a full open celling as well as trees growing inside the restaurant! As you probably know, we are house plant lovers, so seeing 2 story high trees growing inside a restaurant space makes us so happy!

Guests enjoyed El Paseo’s delicious apps, drinks and dinner while DJ Patrick Butler kept the dance floor packed all night long! We absolutely loved celebrating alongside their friends and family and we are so excited to share a few of our favorites!
