Proposals are so fun! The anticipation and anxious excitement create some of the most incredible emotions we get to photograph!

When Felix told us of his plans to propose at Santa Claus Beach we couldn’t wait to hide and capture the proposal! When the day came James and I hid on opposite ends of the beach and watched and waited for the moment!

Felix and Shelby arrived in style in a VW Bus and walked into the beach and set up chairs and blankets and started to drink classic coke and play cribbage. This was a normal weekday evening activity, so Shelby had no idea what was about to happen! (Well done Felix!) While we were hiding I turned around and saw her family hiding right behind me, and I got even more excited! We waited with excitement and a few minutes later I received a text asking when the light was best for the proposal, and since we were all in position and the golden light was absolutely perfect I said “it’s ideal right now!!” Felix stood up and asked Shelby to join him. As he dropped to one knee, I could hear happy tears and sniffles coming from the family behind me! Shelby’s reaction was precious, and when her family ran out and surprised her I started to cry happy tears too!
