The first time they met was their first date! How crazy is that?! And the moment they met they knew they had met their match. They share the same unapologetic passion for life, and they are truly best friends and delight in every part of life together. Steve said, every day he wakes up and the first thing he hears is her beautiful voice saying something like “hey baby” and everyday he knows everything is going to be alright, because her voice is home, and she is home. April is drop dead gorgeous and full of life and joy, and her happiness is contagious to everyone she meets! During their beautiful vows, Steve sang “God only knows what I’d be without you” to April, and it was extra special because it was the first time April had ever heard Steve sing live! Steve is an amazing musician had been on tour years ago as well as an MTV VJ in the past, (no big deal, right?) but up till this point she had seen recordings of him signing, and the first time she heard him sing live was to her during their vows! As you can imagine, not a single eye was dry in that moment!

You’ll never guess how Steve and April met! They both work in “social” in Los Angeles, and they both have a strong sweet tooth. And when you love something you talk about it, right? So they would post photos on Instagram of their fancy desserts, and eventually their mutual admiration and sweet tooth let to them following each other. They initially commented on each other’s instagrams, and then that led to them following each other on twitter…and then Facebook, and then one day April posted a photo of where she worked and it happened to be where Steve’s lawyer used to work, so they started talking. Their first date was…..you guessed it….dessert! They quickly fell for each other and their love for fancy desserts turned into a deep love for each other and a relationship filled with laughter and adventure!  They met on instagram, Steve PROPOSED on instagram, and they found US on instrgram too, so clearly it was meant to be! When we arrived at Villa Verano for their wedding day, it was the prettiest day we have seen in Santa Barbara all month! Gorgeous and sunny, a light breeze, and a breathtaking view of the city!  Not only is this one of our favorite venues in Santa Barbara, but the way Steve & April designed their wedding was absolutely perfect for this tropical villa! April wore a stunning Essence of Australia dress, with her bridesmaids in full length Show Me Your Mumu dresses, and they all looked stunning! After seeing the way these patterned dresses photographed we are fully in favor of this new trend in the industry, anyone else agree? They had a beautiful ceremony nestled in the lower gardens, and their guests enjoyed cocktail hour around the pool with their specialty cocktail, the Wendell Mae. A tropical hibiscus spritzer, named after both of their middle names. How cute is that?! They day continued with heartfelt speeches that had us all in tears, even the catering staff was crying!! And then we finished the night with an incredible dance party complete with a pineapple on the dance floor. Steve and April are an incredible couple and truly had a perfect celebration, and we are so excited to share a few of our favorites from their day!
