Santa Barbara Wedding: Sean & Sara

Filed in: Weddings

We are absolutely thrilled to kick off our 2017 wedding season with this amazing couple! Sara is actually in the wedding industry and works for Omni Catering. She has helped countless other brides plan their day, but last weekend she finally got her wedding day, and it was incredible! We love working with Sara for so many reasons, especially because this girl can hustle, and make stuff happen all with a smile on her face. We have seen her save the day at a wedding time and time again, and we can honestly say weddings are better with her there! SO when she asked us to photograph her wedding, we were deeply honored! She has worked with incredible vendors, so we knew how great of a compliment this is, and we are still blushing when we think about it! And when it came time for her wedding, everything was perfectly organized and planned, so the day was a breeze!

The second we walked up to the girls getting ready room we could hear their laughter from outside the door. We started the day with a big smile on our faces because we knew Sara had incredible women who love and support her through all seasons of life, and we couldn’t wait to meet them! One of the many things we love about Sean and Sara is how they balance each other out perfectly. They love hikes and the outdoors, and spending time with their dog named Indy, and they truly make each other’s life better by the way their strengths and weaknesses compliment each other. They met at UCSB in the Santa Cruz dorm because they just happened to have a mutual friend. And after years of building their life together, Sean said during his vows: “she is the first thing I think about in the morning and she is the last thought on my mind as a fall asleep each night.”  Sean is charming and sweet, and his love for Sara is steady and unwavering. We love that he will wait up all night till she comes home from a working a wedding, just because he wants to hear about how the day went and how she’s doing! Oh how we love couples who are best friends and love everything about living life together! These two are so cute and they truly enjoy each other’s company, and they even have the same birthday! How fun is that?! They have a sweet sweet love that makes our job of photographing them easy!

One of our favorite things about their wedding day was how well planned and timed everything was. Sara has spent so much time planning other weddings, so it makes sense that day was organized she was the most laid back bride ever! We had an amazing timeline and finished ALL of the portraits before the ceremony, so Sean and Sara got to spend their entire cocktail hour with their guests! What a dream! We loved their sweet first look, and we also had time to sneak them up to the clock tower for some incredible portraits with all of Santa Barbara as our backdrop! They had a beautiful ceremony in the (freshly painted) Mural Room, and then we headed over to the harbor for their reception at the Maritime Museum. As soon as we walked into the cocktail hour we were obsessed! Apparently when  you work for a catering company, you get to be creative with the food options. So the guests enjoyed an avocado bar (yes yes you read that correctly) with bacon, cheese, and salsa, and they sipped on cocktails and rosé as the sun set over the harbor. It was even dreamier than it sounds! And then they came inside the museum for an incredible surf and turf meal and a night of dancing and celebration! It was a dreamy and stress free wedding, and we are so excited to share a few of our favorites with you!
