Santa Barbara Historical: Tyler & Lauren

Filed in: Weddings

Santa Barbara Historical Museum and Our Lady of Mount Carmel Wedding

As we drove up the winding driveway we could already hear the sound of laughter and “Sweet Home Alabama” playing. We knew from the second we arrived, this was going to be an incredible celebration! The guys got ready upstairs is the music room, and the girls got ready by the pool and the view of the city almost took our breath away. The morning was filled with laughter as the amazing team of hair and makeup got the girls ready, and as soon as it was time the Santa Barbara Trolley arrived to pick up the boys first, and then the girls and take them all to Our Lady of Mount Carmel in Montecito.

Once we arrived at the church we were once again amazed at the beauty. Our Lady of Mount Carmel is one of of the prettiest churches, but Lauren’s beauty far surpasses the church. The second she walked in and Tyler saw her, he broke down crying. Like ugly crying, and when a groom cries like that we just can’t help but shed a few tears too! As he walked to her and her dad he continued crying, and it was one of the sweetest things to witness! Just wait till you see, and make sure you have Kleenex nearby! They had a beautiful ceremony and afterwards we jumped back on the trolley and headed to Butterfly Beach for photos! And then we headed to the Santa Barbara Historical Museum for cocktail hour and the reception.  As soon as we walked through the doors to cocktail hour we knew it was a true fiesta! Amazing drinks and appetizers were passed around, the guest were free to mix and mingle, sing the guest book and pick up their escort cards which were maracas, (how cool is that) and each guest got a parasol to shade themselves too! Then they headed over to the courtyard for the reception, with a Cantina as the bar and tables that were perfectly decorated with a Spanish flare!

After an amazing dinner of tacos, and an adorable welcome sign that said “Taco Bout a Party” the live band started to play and they were incredible! We’ve seen a lot of live bands, but we have never seen a live band with this much fun, energy, and such incredible stage presence! The bride and groom even got up on stage to sing and song and crowd surfed as well! It was one of the most incredible celebrations we have ever experienced, and we are so excited to share a few of our favorites!
