Padaro Beach Wedding: Kris & Sammie

Filed in: Weddings

Padaro beach Wedding

Kris and Sammie both lived in Santa Barbara, but somehow their paths did not cross until years later, when they were living in San Francisco. On a weekend afternoon they both had friends invite them out to the park for a game of kickball. After a few rounds of kickball the one and only Karl The Fog started rolling in and made kickball conditions less than desirable. The group of friends decided to wrap up their game and head to someone’s house for the remainder of the evening. Kris being the talented, and smart man he is, had noticed Sammie and immediately started to plan for how he could talk to her that night. He put one chair next to the fireplace because he knew this cute girl  would want to warm up by the fireplace. And he only used one chair so they would be forced to share a chair. Well his plan worked perfectly and cold Sammie came over to the fireplace, and they sat check to cheek. They immediately felt like they could talk about anything and everything, but there was only one problem…neither one of them knew the other person’s name! So they both separately got up to ask other people, and get more insight on what they were like. Little did they know they continued to ask the same person each time they got up, and of course that person did a fantastic job talking them up. As the night went on they began a friendship and would eventually lead to best friends who fell in love.

Their wedding took place at the bride’s grandparent’s home on a private beach in Santa Barbara. Sammie has so many wonderful memories from childhood at the house, from school parties, to birthday parties, and family dinners! It was also where other family weddings had been held in the past, so it was the perfect location! And the view of the ocean is fantastic!

The girls got ready upstairs as they overlooked the ceremony and reception space being set up. The guys got ready in the “back house” which used to be Kenny Loggins recording studio, where he recorded the Top Gun song. How fun is that?! As guests started to arrive, the girls watched from the top bedroom, and they were so excited to see the look on Kris’ face when he saw his bride! When Sammie’s dad walked her down the aisle, everyone was smiling and Kris was fighting back tears of joy! They had a beautiful ceremony overlooking the ocean, and they were so excited to be married they DANCED back up the aisle! We love the way these two look at each other and enjoy life together! There were many moments throughout the day when hey would just turn to each other with excitement and joyful tears, and express their thankfulness that they are married! They know that their wedding is the first day of their marriage and their life beginning as one! And they were absolutely thrilled to start the celebration of their marriage! While we took incredible portraits and golden light photos, the guests enjoyed signature cocktails for cocktail hour, as they mixed and mingled with the most incredible view. Then they were seated at gorgeous long tables, perfectly designed by Smith & Murphy. Their guests gave beautiful speeches, and then they celebrated and danced the night away. It was an incredible wedding and we are so excited to share a few of our favorites!
