Cody and Alyse had a beautiful wedding day in Calabasas at the Calabasas Country Club. It was perfect weather, sunny with a slight breeze.  One of the many things we love about this couple, is how they flirt with each other, and the way they make each other laugh! We also love the story of how they met!

Alyse and Cody met while Alyse was spending a summer in Austin, Texas for a law school internship. One weekend, Alyse and a few friends decided to head up to Little Rock, AR for the weekend to visit some other interns. When they walked into Willie D’s Piano Bar, she caught the eye of the cutest guy in the room, Cody. Only problem was, he was working security. They caught each other staring throughout the night until Tenette (one of Alyse’s bridesmaids) couldn’t handle it anymore. She walked right over to Cody and asked him to come dance with them. Although he wasn’t able to join them and dance with them due to his job, he didn’t let getting into a little trouble at work stop him from giving Alyse his phone number.

Later that night Cody took Alyse and Tenette dancing! They went two-stepping till 5am! Two days later, Cody drove to Austin to visit her, which is an 8 hour drive each way! They hit it off and right away, and then Alyse moved back to San Francisco after her summer internship was over. Cody knew what they had was special and didn’t waste any time. He flew to San Francisco to ask her to be his girlfriend, and then a year and a half later he moved to San Francisco to be with her. Needless to say, he was in hot pursuit from day one and definitely wasn’t letting his dream girl get away!

Two years from the time he moved, Cody asked Alyse to marry him. When you meet them, you quickly realize that they are the perfect balance and you see how they compliment each other so well. Alyse loves wine, Cody loves bacon. Alyse is type A, Cody is laid back. Alyse can be a spicy latina and Cody can be a true country boy. They are so excited they both found each other! It has been such a joy to get to know this hilarious and life-giving couple and their wedding was beautiful!!  

When we arrived at the Calabasas Country Club, the girls were laughing and signing, and the guys were hanging out. It was a stress free morning! As they got ready and prepared for the first look, we started to get even more excited too! We always love a good first look, and this one was special. For the first look, they compromised. Cody wanted the first time he saw her to be when she’s walking down the aisle and she wanted to do a  first look. So she had him turn around for the first look while she was about 50 steps away, so he could watch her walk toward him. Isn’t that a sweet idea? It was such a special moment and he got so emotional!! We always love the first look, and this one had us reaching for tissues!

The ceremony was actually on the golf course, on hole 4. So they paused the golfers while the guests began to be seated. Cody and Alyse beautifully declared their love for each other through personalized words, and we once again fell in love with how they love each other. Their kiss was epic, and Cody even raised his hand up in victory! Their love is  playful, and made the day so much fun!

After their beautiful ceremony, we hopped in golf carts to find the best light! We found it, and it was dreamy!! The reception was a perfect celebration and full of surprises! I started with her dad and uncles surprising them by playing the drums. They all sat down to play the drums and played a few songs of them to dance to. It was such s special surprise and all the guests danced and danced and danced! Then Alyse surprised Cody with a rendition from Hamilton that was about how they met! It was super cute and Cody absolutely loved it! We love how they love and surprise each other! The night ended with a sparkler exit, which is our favorite way to end the wedding day. We had such a wonderful time photographing this wedding, and we cannot wait for you to see more of their day!
